Magnetik [2013]

Magnetik is a project situated on the verge of composition and installation. Nora Mulder’s non-standard playing techniques on cimbalom, provide sound source that is transformed and projected onto metallic objects distributed in space using the hand-made coils which transfer acoustic vibration into the space. The sound is formed, shaped and deconstructed in the present moment, creating the illusion of acoustic shadows. Performance has an open end with the audience participation. This project is a new installment of the ongoing artistic research whose aim is the creation of tools that facilitate playing on instruments using the transformative acoustic possibilities of electromagnetic field.
